65 Mill Street was once two small shops and a hotel above. This building had the most ornate facade on the street with a full width covered balcony with sculpted structural supports. The next two adjacent properties, 73 & 75 Little Bridge St., have been added to provide sufficient scale for a significant new commercial and residential condominium project in the downtown. While still in the planning stage, the intention is to replace the shops, add indoor parking and extra floors for residential units with balconies looking at either historic Mill St. or the river. The heritage street façade, including the balcony, will be restored while the additional space behind and above will be contemporary in design. All efforts are being made to make the project as “green” and energy efficient as possible.
